What's the difference between Olapic and other photosharing services?
Olapic is different from other services (Facebook, Picasa, Flickr, Photobucket, Smugmug) because the following:
- Better Privacy Control: We allow to guests to upload to your account without having to give away your password.
- Better Downloads: We allow couples and guests to download full albums as many times as possible. Other services do not allow downloads.
- Better Value for Money: We offer unlimited storage and picture quality. Other service providers compress your pictures or have limits on how many pictures you can store and/or upload.
- Better Communication: We provide online and offline communication tools to ensure all your guests are aware that you plan to collect your pictures.
Do you sell or distribute the email addresses I upload to anyone?
At Olapic we are victims of spam as well. We therefore pledge not to distribute and/or sell email information to a third party. Please check our privacy policy for extra details.
We believe our communication tool really helps couples, but you can manage the communications from your email account directly.
Does Olapic substitute a professional photographer?
Professional photographers have the knowledge and technical equipment to capture photos in a way that your guests may not be able to. We strongly recommend you still get a professional photographer, but guests can provide candid scenes from many more angles of the wedding. Thus, complement the professional photographer with Olapic and you will get a complete media coverage of your wedding.
How much does it cost?
Olapic provides a unique flat fee service that costs $. We will store your pictures for one year, after that you can renew for $25 every year.
You can decide to "pay later" and get full functionality on the first 100 pictures. After that we will continue collecting pictures but you will not be able to see them.
Will my wedding remain private?
At Olapic we believe privacy is crucial. We provide two different levels of privacy.
- You can add a password to protect your public gallery from strangers.
- You can moderate the pictures that guests upload to your site, which will remain private until you decide to make them public.
In the most restrictive setup only people who know your password will be able to see the pictures you want them to see.
How do I create an account?

What is the quality of the pictures I will receive?
Contrary to what Facebook, Flickr and Picasa do, at Olapic we give full quality to the couple. What your guests uploaded is what you get.
Can I download my pictures?
You can download your pictures as many times as you like. You can download them one by one, or download an entire selection/album.
Why can't I see any pictures on the public gallery?
We allow couples to decide whether or not they want to publish automatically every picture their guests upload or to moderate what pictures they want everyone to see. If you uploaded pictures and you cannot see them on the public gallery, wait for the couple to publish an album.
Is there a limit number of pictures guests can upload?
No. You can receive as many pictures as possible. If you are trying Olapic service and you decided to "Pay later" we will store any picture your guests send after the 100th picture recollected until you upgrade your account.
Can I order prints of my pictures?
Yes, we offer photo printing in the US. Worldwide coverage is provided if you are willing to pay the shipping costs to your country.
Can my guests order print pictures?
Yes, your guests can print any photos that you have made public in your public gallery.
Can I delete pictures that I don't want?
Yes. In fact you can delete a whole selection of pictures at once.
How can I maximize the number of pictures I can collect?
Our experience tells us that you should first upload as many email addresses from your guests as possible. Our communication tool will automatically remind your guests to upload their pictures.
Second, we suggest you distribute as many reminder cards as possible during your wedding. If you have a paid account, you will receive 100 cards for free, but you can order as many additional cards as you want from your account.
Why do we ask guests for their name and email before they upload pictures?
Olapic provides the couple with an easy way to track which guests uploaded pictures.
Additionally, we want to make sure that you don't receive any more emails reminding you to upload pictures once you've done it.
